Discount Jewelry on eBay
A great place to find almost any item of jewelry that you can imagine is eBay. Jewelry wholesale auctions are quite common on eBay, and in many cases, you cannot beat the deals that are offered here. However, you should be aware that there are also many con artists that operate through eBay.
Start by reading all of the fine details about the wholesale lots that you are interested in purchasing. If you still have questions, send those questions to the seller through eBay’s website. Make sure that you keep all of your contact with the seller through the website so that there is documentation.
Check out the person or company that is offering the jewelry wholesale and look at their ratings and their feedback. Has there been any negative feedback? If so, you may want to reconsider your options and look into other auctions. If the feedback is all positive, and the seller’s rating is high, doing business with them should not be a problem. |

Buying Jewelry Wholesale at Estates Sales
Buying jewelry wholesale at estates sales is actually quite easy. In fact, in most cases, this is the easiest way to get very rare or old pieces at or below jewelry wholesale prices! There is, however, a method when it comes to walking away with an heirloom piece at a rock bottom price!
Most people have estate sales when a person has died. Unless the person was extremely wealthy, an appraisal of all of the items that will be sold is not done, and in most cases, the people holding the sale are heirs that simply want to cash in. They have no idea what the real value of what they are selling is. These sales are often run just like your average garage sale, with items marked at incredibly low prices so you can literally walk away with thousands of dollars of jewelry for just a few dollars.
Even if the jewelry is not that valuable, the pieces of the jewelry may be of some use to you when you are constructing your own pieces. You can carefully take the pieces that you buy at estate sales apart, and save the reusable gems, chains, settings, and other pieces. You can typically buy these pieces far below jewelry wholesale prices!

Body Piercing
Body piercing is popular, especially among teens. Something that once started as earrings led to the piercing of many other body parts. Do you have your ears pierced? Is there something wrong with people who have their ears pierced? Many teens find body piercing to be a way of self expression and a way to rebel. Today, people get their noses, tongues, eye brows, belly buttons and even other places pierced. You can go into any jewelry store at the mall and find belly button and eye brow rings. The jewelry itself is not tacky or ugly, but can be very regular pieces. Is body piercing bad then?
People have preconceived notions about people who are different from them. When ladies first started to get their ears pierced, that was taboo as well. As time goes on the preconceived notions about body piercings will go away as well. As long as the piercing is done properly, in a clean environment and is taken care of properly, then there are no adverse side effects to having body piercings. Again, they must be taken care of and cleaned properly though as infections can spread rapidly this way. So, the next time you are at that mall and see a group of girls walk by with belly button rings, think twice before you judge them. |

How to Price Your Jewelry Wholesale
Pricing is an issue that many people in the jewelry business often worry about. However, there is a method that you can easily use, whether you purchase jewelry wholesale or make your own jewelry. Pricing is very important. You don’t want to charge too much, because you won’t sell anything. On the other hand, you want to make sure that you charge enough to make a profit.
If you purchase your jewelry at wholesale prices, a markup of 15% to 30% is usual, and people will pay these prices. In the grand scheme of things, apply the 30% markup, and make that the ‘regular’ price. When you need to move merchandise hold a sale, and use the 15% markup price as the sale price.
If you make your own jewelry, determine the total cost of the piece, including the cost of supplies, shipping, warehousing and packaging, then apply a 15% markup. With the 15% markup, your jewelry will be priced at the wholesale price. If you sell the jewelry to the general public yourself, as opposed to selling it to retailers, apply the retail price, which in this case would be about 45% above your costs. |

Buying Wholesale Jewelry over the Internet
Buying jewelry wholesale is really quite easy. The Internet gives you access to all of the wholesale jewelry companies you could ever need to make your selections, so you can buy exactly what you want or need – at very competitive prices.
There is a difference between online jewelry stores and online wholesale companies. Online jewelry stores sell jewelry at retail prices, even though the price may be slightly discounted. Wholesale companies sell jewelry at wholesale prices – which of course are cheaper than retail prices.
If buying online isn’t what you are interested in, consider joining a discount club. Here you will find jewelry at deeply discounted retail prices, which is the next best thing to jewelry wholesale prices – but again, the wholesale prices will be lower. |

Dealing with Jewelry Wholesale Dealers
Many people think that if they try to talk to a jewelry wholesale dealer that they will get better bargains. In the case of buying in bulk, they are absolutely right! Most jewelry wholesale dealers will offer you a lower price if you are buying in bulk – but if you are just buying one or two pieces, it really doesn’t pay for them to offer you prices below the wholesale price.
Other than getting a good price, you want to make sure that you are getting quality jewelry. If you can deal with the jewelry wholesale dealer in person, you should. But in most situations, this will not be the case. Instead, contact the dealer by phone and talk to them. Establish a relationship, and keep that relationship on good terms at all times.
As time goes by, you may be able to get even better deals from the wholesaler, and you can probably work out credit terms as well. Just remember that your jewelry wholesale dealer is a human being, and treat them as such. If you ever find that your dealer isn’t being honest with you, or is selling low quality jewelry, look for a new wholesaler.

Buy Jewelry Wholesale at Jewelry Shows and Expos
Jewelry shows and expos are great places to find jewelry wholesale. These shows and expos are held all over the world throughout the year, and no matter where you live, a show will eventually be held near you – probably within a days drive. In fact, if you live near a major city or a convention center, there will probably be several shows throughout the year that you will be interested in when it comes to wholesale jewelry.
One of the great things about these shows and expos – aside from all of the gorgeous jewelry on display and the fabulous prices – is the information that is offered. These shows and expos often cover entire weekends, and related seminars and demonstrations are often included as well. There is an entry fee for these shows and expos, in most cases, but it is typically quite affordable. A good way to find shows in your area is to visit http://aksshow.com/home.jsp Another way to find shows is to visit a search engine and type ‘jewelry showsyour home town’ into the search box, where your home town is the town you live in, or a major city near you. |

Insuring The Quality Of Your Gold
So how do you make sure the gold jewelry you buy is of the value you pay for?
Here are some tips:
If the piece has a trademark, like a man's brand of product line or a sports team logo, it must have a license stamp on the back. If the license stamp is not there, chances are you are being cheatted in regard to the value and quality of the gold.
Another way is to look at the workmanship. If the edges are frayed or it just looks cheap, it probably is a piece of cheap gold and its value is far from what you are looking for.
And if you really want to be certain you have bought legitimate gold, you can have your pieces X-rayed at a quality- assurance lab for a small price of $20.
It may be worth your peace of mind!

The Problem With Gold Jewelry
In many countries, the US, for example, anything less than 10 karats -- or about 42 percent real gold -- is not permitted legally to be sold as gold. Still, the reality is that with gold sales rising rapidly, under-karating, or cheatting over the value of the gold, is a very common problem, even though it's not widely known.
The worst cheating occurs with the less expensive 10-karat and 14-karat pieces and the problem is very difficult to solve. The reason is that by simply looking at a piece of gold, there is really no way to tell the difference between 10-karat and 8-karat. This can be a tough issue to face when you purchase discount jewelry, because you can never be sure of the quality of the gold you buy.

Is Discount Jewelry Right For You?
The answer to this question depends on several issues. First, you need to decide the purpose of your purchase. If it is for fashionable reasons, then discount jewelry may fit your needs. If you are looking for an engagement ring or a gift for someone special, it may be better to get the gift elsewhere, especially in a physical store near your house. For one thing you can take the gift-receiver with you to measure the ring or gift and to make sure it fits their taste. And you can be more certain of the quality of your purchase this way.
Second, you may determine your need by figuring out how much you wish to spend on this. If you can't afford a large sum, you may want to turn to discount jewelry. Many people are happy with this choice, since they choose pretty pieces which are not too expensive and they look great! After figuring out these two parts, you can be more certain if discount jewelry is the way you want to go.

Discount Jewelry, Pros And Cons
Discount jewelry is quite popular these days, when the concept of finding things at cheaper prices on the web is so commonly embraced.
On the one hand, you could find wonderful bargains of gold and silver jewelry, semi precious stones, etc. After all, not everyone today can afford the prices of high quality jewelry and quite often, cheaper solutions may look and feel the same and still cost you less. Many people wish to keep up with fashion without paying the crazy prices of the market.
On the other hand, this may be a bit risky. You must be sure that you buy from a reputable source. Try to find reviews of the online store you look at. Cheap metals and cheap immitations might cause skin irritations. The good thing is that you are backed up by a return guarantee and the option to change the size if it doesn't fit.
Still, be careful when you buy discount jewelry and make sure you know what you get.
